Night and Day: A poem for two voices

Night

Mysterious and secretive

Calling for adventure

Night
The best time of all
Bright full moon

The beauty of silence

Stars lighting up the sky

Waiting, Waiting
For the night to come

Day

Cheerful and bright

A warm welcoming
Day
The best time of all

Warm sun rays

The sound of laughter

Birds soaring high above
Waiting, Waiting
For the day to come

-- Riley G.

Pineapple the Stuffed Bear: An Epitaph

Here lives Pineapple
He was a friend
The loss of this stuffing
was the cause
to his end.
-- Eva  B.

The water is sometimes cold
and the sand is always soft.
The air smells of seafood
and the water is filled with seaweed.
Waves crash into the shore
and I walk to the beach from where I stay.
Ice cream slowly melts
and drips onto the cold sand.
Our cottage isn't the nicest place
or the warmest place to stay
but it will definitely have to do
for this week of fun.
--MacKenzie S.

Inside this Painting

Inside this painting
is inspiration and concentration
sadness and beauty
colors bursting out of nowhere
like fireworks in the night
both wild and gentle
Boom Boom Boom
As if they were reaching out
to pull you in
It's meaning a giant
abstract blur of every emotion.
-- Christie W.

Inside this Painting

Inside this painting
Bright colors scream across the white paper
Paints perk up parched paper
Soft pastels are Spring.
While bold and bright are like Summer
Colors pop out, soft and bright,
out in the museum light.
-- Jessica K.

Cape Cod

In the water
Nice and cool
Clams and hot sauce
Also lobster and steak
Playing in the sand
Enjoying the scenery
Camp fires
On the beaches
Do the same thing tomorrow
-- Laura W

Inside this soccer ball
A confusion of motion
back and forth across the field
The ball zips to the back of the net
Swish! it says.
It's kicked -- boom bang -- goes the ball
Bumping from foot to foot
That's what is inside
This soccer
-- Margaret P.

Inside this Brook

Inside this brook
the water tumbles over rocks
going splish, splash and the gentle gurgling sound
It tumbles and fights over who goes first
The babbling brooks is as tranquil
as a day at the spa
--Bryanna K.

Rich and soft sand
Unbelievable warm sand
Beautiful shells wash up on shore
Awesome entertainment

There is a wolf in me
It's loud, spiritual voice echoes in the night sky.
It runs fast and doesn't stop until it gets what it wants.
Wild, free -- it doesn't care what everybody else thinks.
Determined, head on with no warning,
it throws back its head at the moon.
A night-loving animal.
There is a wolf in me.
-- Brianna W.
