One day I was walking home from school. My books fell out of my
book bag. I found a lonely caterpillar slithering across the hard cold
cement. I looked closely at it. I picked it up. When I picked it up it
carried some food with it and spelled goodbye in the palm of my hand. I
put it back on the ground and I ran home as fast as I could.
“Honey why were you running down the street?” my mom said.
“Because I felt like running” I said.
“Well next time you run down the
street, look out for cars” my mom replied. When my mom said look for
cars when you are running down the street that is when it dawned on me.
When my mom said watch out for cars I
it was because the caterpillar in my hand spelled out with the food, goodbye.
When I rushed into my bedroom suddenly, I felt a hard rush of cold air. I closed my window but I still felt the air. I decided to take a nap, I hopped on my bed. I heard a sound call out “come on.” I looked out my window and saw my friend Abby. She was waiting for me to go to the park.
We were running down the sidewalk, I tripped and saw a small little pebble it reminded me of the caterpillar who spelled out goodbye in the palm of my hand. I got scared and I kept on running. I told Abby we should go home and have a snack. When we got home we ate milk and cookies. After that Abby went home she was scared for me she told me that she would sacrifice her life for mine.
My mom got so worried that I could have some sort of mental problem. I had to keep on telling her that I don’t have a mental problem, because she said that caterpillars cannot spell anything, especially "goodbye."
That night, I went to sleep at 2:00 am because I was thinking about
how the caterpillars can spell anything. When I woke up, I ran down
stairs, threw my coat on and ran outside. When I was outside I ran to
the place I saw the caterpillar and I saw the most beautiful butterfly.
I
guess I was afraid of nothing.
